GREEN APPLE SALAD

GREEN APPLE SALAD

This recipe is courtesy my friend, Asha Satish Philar, cookery expert and a fine person who is the author of the popular cookery book, "Konkani Saraswat Cookbook."





Ingredients:
  • Green Apple, 1, wash, peel and core
  • Lime juice, a little
  • Raisins, 1 tbsp, soaked in a little warm water
  • Green Chillies, 2, crushed with a little salt
  • Thick curd, 2 cups (not sour)
  • Coriander leaves, chopped, 1 tbsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
For the seasoning:
  • Mustard seeds,1 tsp
  • Oil, 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida, a pinch
  • Curry leaves, a sprig
Method:

Cut the green apple into small pieces and smear them with a little lime juice to prevent discolouration.
Drain the water from the raisins
In a bowl, beat the curd until smooth and add the apple pieces and other ingredients
Prepare the seasoning and pour it over the salad
Mix well and serve.
