MASALA CHARMBURO ( SPICY PUFFED RICE)
If you want to rustle up a quick light on the stomach evening snack, here is one made of puffed rice which we call "Charmburo" in Konkani. It is called Pori in Tamil, Kadlepori in Kannada and Murmure in Hindi.
I prefer to add coconut oil as this enhances the taste, but this is optional. I have used branded sambar powder (MTR in this case) to save time.
Here I have served this with a hot cup of coffee on a rainy evening.
Ingredients:
Mix the chopped onions, coconut gratings, sambar powder and salt in a bowl
To this mixture, add the puffed rice
Using your fingers mix the puffed rice and masala such that they are well blended
Finally, add 1/2 tsp of coconut oil
Garnish with coriander leaves
