TOMATO, ORANGE, CARROT & PAPAYA JUICE

As the summer has set in, I wanted to augment my stock of recipes for juices of various kinds. I was delighted to find this interesting healthy drink recipe by Tarla Dalal. You will notice that the recipe does not call for the addition of any sugar at all to keep down the calories and in any case, the sweetness comes from the ingredients itself.



The recipe gave us the choice of using either papaya or musk melon. I have chosen the latter. The recipe below is for 4 glasses.

Ingredients:
  • Tomatoes, chopped, 3 cups
  • Carrots, chopped and peeled, 1 cup
  • Orange segments, cut into half, 1 cup
  • Papaya or Musk Melon, cut into cubes, 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice, 1/2 tsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ice cubes, for serving.
Method:
Combine all the ingredients along with 3/4 cup of water and blend in a mixer till smooth.
Strain using a strainer.
Pour equal quantity of the juice into four glasses.
Serve immediately topped with a few ice cubes.
